Archbishop Wuerl Continues His Shakedown [Video]
There has to come a point when Wuerl (the Archbishop of Washington) realizes that he keeps contradicting himself. It wasn't terribly bright to threaten the DC City Council to begin with. Now, about all that he is accomplishing is to make himself even more irrelevant as he tries, in vain, to kill marriage equality or, in the alternative, to get the Council to sanction the church's employment discrimination.
Via CNA — In an interview with Dr. John Haas of the National Catholic Bioethics Center, Archbishop Donald Wuerl of Washington D.C. stated that the proposed same-sex “marriage” law in D.C. doesn't only redefine marriage, it lacks the conscience protections necessary to allow the social services of the Church to continue partnering with the civil government. On Dec. 1, D.C. council members are scheduled to vote on a bill which would legalize same-sex “marriage” in D.C. and require Catholic Charities and other religious institutions to “recognize and promote” it as Archbishop Wuerl has previously stated.
The prelate told Haas that the Church has two reservations about the proposed law.
First is the definition of marriage itself. “Marriage has been defined across human history, across cultures, nations, and time, in a very specific way,” Wuerl said.
Secondly, Wuerl noted that the new law would “prohibit us from carrying out our social service ministry if we did not subscribe to this new definition.” If, on December 1, the D.C. city council votes in favor of the law as it is now, the partnership between Catholic Charities and the civil government will be over, and not simply out of spite.

Runescape Newest update discussion on Rare Items
The Runescape new duel arena update has caused a LOT of discussion on the forum, and even though Jagex's intentions were honorable, the rants are continuing to pour in. To pull a little attention from the the negative thoughts, why don't you check out the speculation of how the update will affect the rares market.
Someone in DC needs to ask Wuerl about his relationship with Fr. Ron Lengwin, commnications director of the Pittsburgh diocese, when Wuerl was bishop here. Asking him, er, politely about it was enough to get him to drop opposition to Pitttsburgh's gay rights law in 1990 (though I'm sure he considered the very fact that we were asking extremely impolite :).
