Liberty Counsel Can Kiss My Ass
It seems that the prudes as Liberty Counsel have filed a complaint with the FCC (PDF) against ABC over the performance of Adam Lambert. In their letter, signed by Anita Staver, they use the word "homosexual" four times. The implication is that gay sexual innuendo is sufficient to warrant a complaint. Actually, the basis of the complaint is the gay suggestiveness of the act.
In point of fact, Lambert did nothing more erotic than countless performers – male and female – have done with their dancers and musicians of the opposite sex. Nevertheless, the holier-than-thou schmucks at Liberty Council are obsessed with all things gay. Ultimately, this letter will go to the kook spike but it just shows how spectacularly out of touch these folks are.
Anita is the wife of Mat Staver, Dean of third-rate Liberty Law School. Residents of Florida, Ms. Staver is notable for being a professional victim and her anti-gay vitriol:
Anita Staver, president of Liberty Counsel and co-author of the Florida Marriage Protection Amendment, told reporters: "We don't need a crystal ball to tell what's going to happen in Florida if Amendment 2 does not pass. Normalizing same-sex marriage will suppress speech and religion. The ultimate goal for those opposing Amendment 2 is to silence all opposition to same-sex behavior and the homosexual lifestyle."
Noting the "gay marriage" debate is "really a battle over the freedom of speech," Staver listed 10 examples in schools, churches and private businesses in which persons opposing homosexuality have been discriminated against, usually in states and countries where "gay marriage" has been legalized.
"Florida, we've had ample warning. To prevent similar travesties from coming to this state, we need to get ready. We need to vote yes on Amendment 2," Staver said.

There's no "gay marriage" in FL, and in fact LGBT people have very little in the way of rights/protections in FL. Furthermore Adam was giving a musical performance, not getting married. So why the hell is Anita Bryant Staver screaming about same-sex marriage and "transvestites"?
Never mind. I'm used to the RRRW art of the non-sequitur fearmongering used to whip the base into a frenzy. It doesn't need to apply to the situation at hand. It doesn't need to make sense. It just needs to get people to fear, hate and act.
