For $67.43 Randall Terry Delivers Convulsions

Randall Terry It seems that every irrational right wing whack job has a scam scheme these days to FedEx, fax or phone every member of congress. Usually, these things are priced at several times the cost of providing the "service." Any congressional staffer will tell you that duplicate letters, emails or faxes are treated as one. Furthermore, correspondence from individuals not identified as constituents (AKA votes) is destined for the spike.

Enter Randall Terry. Following in the footsteps of such notables as Joseph Farah and Janet Porter, Terry will fax an incoherent screed to every member of Congress for a mere $67.43 — or you can write your own, up to 1,000 characters. My favorite line:

You cannot expect millions of Americans to betray God, and to pay for the murder of their neighbor without something snapping. Do not delude yourself: You run the real risk of national convulsions that have not been seen since the 60s, or perhaps since the civil war if you try to compel Americans to pay for the murder of the innocent.

I am at a loss to explain the inclusion of selected, expurgated text from Lincoln's second inaugural speech. The passage Terry is quoting is about the scourge of slavery. Perhaps he thinks that either his customers or the legislators will be impressed. Here is proof that the crazies often seem even crazier when compelled to write something.

If you plan to vote to fund the murder of babies by abortion in any "health care" bill - either explicitly or implicitly - please know: there could be horrific consequences.

However, if you are tempted by this evil folly, take warning from the words of Abraham Lincoln:

Yet, if God wills that it continue until all the wealth piled by the bondsman's two hundred and fifty years of unrequited toil shall be sunk, and until every drop of blood drawn with the lash shall be paid by another drawn with the sword, as was said three thousand years ago, so still it must be said "the judgments of the Lord are true and righteous altogether."

Do not plunge our nation further down the path of ruin by attempting to compel us to pay for the murder of the innocent. If you do, it is tantamount to the government putting a gun to taxpayers' heads to pay for the brutal murder of an innocent child. There are many of us who will not comply.
