A Brief Comment on Question One

Submitted by David Hart on Fri, 11/06/2009 - 15:56

Cleve Jones reminded me that it is irresponsible to critique a campaign unless you are there. I wasn't there. It is probably a good thing that I don't manage these endeavors because I get too angry. I learned a long time ago that my abrasive New York City demeanor doesn't play well in most other locales. Therefore, from a distance I should not have suggested that the No on One campaign lacked passion and anger. For all I know, that could have made the result worse.

What I can say is that President Obama and the DNC did not support our cause as they should have. Doing the right thing should not require the cynical political calculus of prospective re-election public opinion.
